Effectively Getting Rid Of Deep Set Neck Wrinkles

By Ellen Jones

One of the most disconcerting things about neck wrinkles is how they suddenly sneak up on you. Unlike your face, which you see clearly in the mirror every day, your neck is rather hidden from your line of vision. All of a sudden one day you catch a glimpse of what you never knew was there. You've been missing the neck wrinkles in the mirror because you really only see the front of your neck. Wrinkles often develop around the sides of the neck.

Once you do notice them, neck wrinkles are usually set deeper than perhaps you were prepared for, and the first glimpse can be a little shocking. But, don't get too alarmed. You can get rid of neck wrinkles just as you can get rid of facial wrinkles. You can minimize wrinkles of all kinds by using treatment creams that are designed just for that purpose. In most cases, the treatment creams include specific ingredients that are designed to help your skin bounce back.

Most of us are familiar with the idea of using a collagen based, elastin-filled cream to help ward off and treat existing wrinkles. These are the two most common ingredients in just about any anti wrinkle product. This is thanks to the skin's natural loss of these two basic wrinkle fighting agents that are produced naturally in the skin.

A treatment for the face can be equally as effective, in most cases, for treatment of the neck. Facial skin may react faster because it is a more sensitive area, but the overall effect should be noticeable within about a week of constant use. If you begin facial treatment before you begin neck treatment, you will eventually have to play catch up. Thus, it is a good idea to start treatment for both at the same time.

If you want to help prevent further wrinkling, pay attention to the way you use sun protection. Many of us will slather up our faces and our arms, yet fail to give the neck adequate attention. Even daily sun protection should be applied to the neck. Overlooking this step is just inviting more wrinkles to settle in.

Oddly, if you lose a significant amount of weight in the face and neck area you can also have an increase in neck wrinkles. This is not an advocacy for being overweight. Rather, if you are losing weight you should expect to develop some neck wrinkles and take preventative action to minimize them. Treating them as the weight is coming off is always preferable to trying to treat them once you've lost the weight and the wrinkles are firmly set in place.

Two daily applications of a high quality wrinkle cream is about what it takes to notice a decrease in wrinkle appearance. While many people do not bother with applications of anti wrinkling agents created just for the neck, those who are sensitive to thicker creams might want to consider doing so. Application of a heavy anti-wrinkle cream isn't likely to lead to a greasy feeling later in the day. Instead, it is much more comfortable for many people to supply their neck with even more moisture that they use on their face.

Thick treatment creams tend to be highly effective, but could be greasy if used on the face. Using different creams will keep both the face and neck areas looking and feeling their best.
