Gift of the gab, like a Gift of the Magi, is a boon of sorts to an individual. Though the gift is mostly natural or God given yet the gift needs to be packaged to add the property of attractiveness to it. Utilizing this gift of nature judiciously could reap benefits not only monetarily but in popularity also. An individual who uses this gift of the gab for effective profits is called a business speaker.

Speaking, itself, is an art that needs no explanation or emphasis. The first and the prime method of communication between two human beings is by the action of speaking. To deliver one's thoughts to another is a speech.

If the two be compared, that is where two individuals talk to one another and a single speaker delivers a speech to an audience, there is a wide and disparate difference. It is necessary for a speaker to be able to convince the audience on the topic or issue being spoken about with near nil interaction or interjection from the audience, during the delivery of the speech.

How so ever good or interesting the content of a speech be, its not being delivered adequately would lead to a complete loss of the entire content. As important is the content, so is the speaker who delivers the same to the audience.

There are new strains of speaker and speeches that are forming up and they are in keeping with the changing requirement of the present times. Speeches and lectures were previously restricted to those that had academic value or those that were delivered by people of eminence on burning issues of the time. With the passage of time there came speakers who even delivered content of humor to the audience.

With times there has been a lot of change and the current time period is the best example of it. This change is noted in the type of speech and speaker also. There is now a new class called the business speaker. Delivering either business or professional or motivation related speeches is the speaker's prime job.

The change taking place in technology as well the basic principles on which business houses run their operations is indeed rapid. That the change is disseminated to all the ranks of the business house is a necessity. Professionals are being hired by the business house for this task, that is the speakers, and it is their task to deliver lectures for disseminating the changes to all the ranks.

The importance of human resource to a business house has been proved and well established with time. Fast results are expected from the employees to remain in the run, given the competitive market of the time. To cope up with such demand leads to fatigue amongst the employees. In order to boost this flagging morale and motivate the employees, business houses now entrust the job to a speaker.

Speaking has evolved as a business of its own, and is a profitable one at that. This is a well established fact. Those that have the flair for speaking in public and have the basic knowledge base of the topic being demanded by a particular company could make good money in business speaking jobs.

Not only individuals but a conglomerate of such people have started working together under a single roof and formed into a business house itself. Such a house offer services of a business speaker depending on the clients' requirements which in most cases would be yet another business house. The venue where the lecture is delivered by the speaker could be either at the client's site or at the speaker's site, which would also be factored into the cost of the entire contract.
